Brazil has participated in every World Cup since 1930. Brazil, the 5-time world champions, is the team that has won the World Cup the most times. A right back, Cafu made his national team debut for Brazil in 1990. He won his first cap on 12 September 1990 in a friendly against Spain. Cafu was a substitute in the 1994 World Cup squad. After that, Brazil won the Copa America in 1997 and 1999 and the FIFA Confederations Cup in 1997. After the 94 World Cup, Cafu became a regular presence in the starting XI.
